‘This course really had such a large impact on all aspects of my life, including work.'
Watch our Resilience Beyond Crisis video.
Since we began Result CIC in 2012, we've used our own lived experience of marginalisation to work across the range of intersectional people.
The label often applied as shorthand here, BAME, does not always reflect the identities or diversity of those from African, Caribbean, LatinX, South Asian, East and South East Asian heritage, so we use the term 'lived experience of racism.'
The events of summer 2020 and the powerful impact of Black Lives Matter and Covid have highlighted the inequalities amongst people with lived experience of racism. What is different now is that we are being asked to work within these comminities more often.
What is involved?
As experienced coaches and facilitators, we bring an ethos to all our work of ‘ask, don’t tell’. We believe that you know the best approach for yourself and our job is to bring that out. We offer flexible options working face to face (when permitted) or online including:
- group workshops
- individual coaching (which can boost the impact of the group work)
- programmes which are a combination of workshops and coaching
- masterclasses
- action learning sessions (ALS – group coaching) to intensively focus on one topic or question
- any combination of these elements to meet your requirements.
What are the benefits?
The content is always tailored around client needs. There are however core elements such as:
- self-confidence and self-belief
- mindset needed to ensure growth and success
- identity and labels
- personal styles and adapting to others
- personal strengths
- assertive communication and getting our messages across
- asking for help
- making best use of our contacts
- what strengths are developed by being exposed to different cultures
- our rich histories and what can we learn
What experience do we have?
All the examples below are projects which Result CIC has delivered with people who have lived experience of racism since its inception in 2012. This includes:
- coaching with people living with HIV from African or Caribbean origin
- young people from working class backgrounds in partnership with RECLAIM project
- LGBT+ young people workshop looking at mindset and identity for The Proud Trust
- staff workshop at NHS Central Manchester Foundation Trust (CMFT) entitled ‘you, your strengths and future progress.’
- Lottery funded programme of workshops and coaching with Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit
- Lottery funded programme of workshops and coaching with people living with Sickle Cell

Feedback
‘This course really had such a large impact on all aspects of my life including work. Since doing the course, I feel I have re-connected with my confidence. I honestly believe in my abilities and I understand my why, what and how. I’ve relocated closer to my family, have applied for a re-grade and I have taken control of my physical health. I genuinely feel happy in my work and life in general. I feel powerful as a young black woman.’

‘The coaching was transformational…’
‘I have really loved working with you in coaching. I have learned so much in the process. For example, since our last session I was able to apply what I learned [about being assertive] in the real world in a work situation. It really worked well.’
