It’s been such a busy time here at Result that we’ve condensed all of this month’s news into one blog. We’ve seen the end of several projects but that also signifies the start of new ones.
We’ve been working with the incredible Northern Soul, headed by one of our advisory team, Ruth Ibegbuna and a project called SPARK, a bold, locally rooted six-month leadership journey for 18–25-year-old Northerners. Back in May, we started our journey with these extraordinary young people with a workshop in Bradford, and were honoured to see that this was voted as the favourite part of the programme by the participants. We wish them all well in their future endeavours and look forward to potential further collaborations with Northern Soul.
'DELTA is the safest space I have ever been.'
So said one of the participants from this year’s DELTA programme, working with disabled leaders within the Civil Service. At a graduation event this October, everyone was encouraged to take part in a ‘Future Thinking’ approach, looking ahead 18 months and reflect on how they could use their DELTA learning to achieve their aspirations. It was also a powerful connecting/networking event.
Meanwhile, also in October, we saw an incredible 88 people attend the launch of the next round of DELTA. The launch was accompanied by a message of support and encouragement from Ceri Smith is Director General, Office for Investment at the Department for Business and Trade and the Senior disability champion within the Civil Service. We can’t wait to work with this new cohort of talented people.
We’re also looking forward to supporting a new 'disability inclusion for researchers' programme for the University of Manchester for early-career disabled researchers and their supervisors. This will include 1:1 coaching and group learning events. We will also run our Disability leadership programme in Spring 2026 again.
And to round off, November will see the start of new work with the Lancashire Constabulary. We’ll be running pilot training 'Confident conversations about Neurodiversity' and an Action Learning group session with members of the Constabulary's Neurodiversity network.
