Instigate Arts launches a new project through the Salford Centenary Fund in partnership with Result CIC.
2026 marks the Centenary of the city of Salford and, as part of the centenary programme, funds have been made available for projects celebrating the city.
Our friends at Instigate Arts have been successful in applying to deliver an arts project based around five of the city’s finest drinking establishments.
Five artists will immerse themselves in these pubs, speaking to locals and documenting folklore, rumours, and memories. Out of this, they’ll create five original bespoke artworks – film, sound, animation, story, paint, all giving voice to a previously unknown archive, a people’s story.
Result's contribution to this project will be providing development coaching to the five artists, all of whom have lived experience of being excluded.
Result's Co-Director, Jane Cordell said,
'Result has always had a strong commitment to the arts and people working in the sector. We are delighted to be able to collaborate with our local partner, Instigate Arts, both to celebrate our city of Salford turning 100 and to support with coaching the artists' new, innovative work.'

The pubs forming the trail are:
Wandering Palate, Monton Road: artist Harri Shanahan
Oats and Honey, Monton Road: artist Greg Thorpe
Queens Arms, Green Lane: artist Traë England-Shortt
Worsley Stores, Barton Road: artist Dean Brocklehurst
Worsley Old Hall, Worsley Park: artist Anne Louise Kershaw
Dates for Trails, Pales and Centenary Tales will be announced soon.

We are what we do and we love what we do.
