Our latest work

What a wonderful whirlwind these two months are proving to be! Apart from the news of the restructure of Result CIC earlier this month, with the addition of some spectacular key people, we have continued our coaching and training activities.

Jane and Andy delivered 4 well-received half-day workshops at the Job Club at Manchester Deaf Centre. This included two entitled 'Aim Higher' focusing on self-talk, confidence and aspiration. Then on to two 'Express to impress' workshops concentrating on how best to search for jobs and demonstrate strengths at interviews.

Attendees said that they would welcome further such development training.

We also started our coaching programme with people living with Sickle Cell with an age range of 12-65! Some are already talking about changes they are making as a result of the coaching.

In terms of bigger programmes our second run of 'Achieving your Potential: From Strengths to Transformation' started in September at Liverpool John Moores University with a similar yet different one called 'Maximising your Potential' being delivered for the first time at BBC North this month. Both of these are personal development programmes targeted at disabled staff at both organisations.

In contrast to these longer programmes, Hormoz delivered a 2 hour session for 14 BAME LGBT+ young people as part of the second residential weekend The Proud Trust organises for its young people (YP). The YP considered their values and mindsets, some for the first time. These are both areas which they were encouraged to think that they have control over.

Finally Jane and Hormoz started a brand new programme working with Hiring Managers at BBC North. The focus is to consider how they can gain more confidence to recruit from a broader choice of candidates, in order to get the best and more diverse people for their team. There are 2 half day workshops, the second of which is next month so we shall no doubt report back on how it went.

There is a strong feeling at Result CIC that we can run this programme in many other organisations!
