’70 days is not a long time; I cannot believe how much my confidence has grown in that time.’

Our ongoing relationship with the staff at the University of Manchester reached new heights this month with sixteen graduates from our Leadership Development Programme, all of whom are disabled.

Through a combination of workshops, training sessions and individual coaching, participants learned how to develop increased confidence and trust, assertiveness skills, active listening and much more. They also learned how to create personal development goals and leadership objectives, and communicate these to senior managers.

And because we at Result are what we do, the programme was delivered by coaches who are themselves disabled, has a long-term health condition or who is neurodiverse, their lived experience adding authenticity to the sessions.

Here’s what some of them had to say.

‘It was the first time I had had coaching. I loved it – really enjoyed it. I was lucky to get my coach. I don’t think I have ever really talked about my disability before I did this course. It was good to be around people who ‘get it’. And I had never had people accept the need for (physical) access and adaptation before. This was the first time and it made me think.’

‘Thank you so much for all you have done, the course and the coaching have been amazing, I am so glad I got to meet you. I feel like a different person.’

‘I have learned to be kind to myself. I see things in perspective and have broadened my perspective in this group.’

‘I now accept things I need. I had always helped others before - but not myself.’

‘The resources on the programme – the tools – were really useful. I have a plan now - understanding in more depth – a bespoke plan.’

‘Before I was scared and shy. I would smile and be quiet at meetings. I would not speak. I was afraid of making errors. After coaching with Andy

I have started to share my views. Thanks to this course I have started to share.;

‘Here I have learned to explore my needs. I felt like a burden before. I felt the threats. This course made me realise it is ok to look after my needs. It is not selfish; it gives people opportunities.’

Our programmes can be adapted to your needs so, if you think we might be able to support you are your teams with increased confidence, why not invite us over for a chat?

We are what we do and we love what we do.
